Romantic Inns Romantic Inns

In virtually every Vermont town, you'll find a storybook country inn, complete with a crackling fire in winter and rockers on the porch in summer.
They're the perfect destination to get away from schedules and distractions and just reconnect with each other.

You could choose a grand hotel, such as the Equinox in Manchester, or the Woodstock Inn in Woodstock. These properties combine history, grandeur and a touch of casual elegance (with a wide selection of recreation, of course.)

Or, you might opt for the intimacy of one the countless smaller properties. You can find them tucked at the end of winding dirt roads, across from village greens or perched high a rolling hilltop.

For instance, scenic Lake Willoughby is the backdrop for the Fox Hall Inn in Westmore. The lake has been called America's Lake Lucerne and inspires romance in the hearts of those who stay at this historic inn.

The central part of Vermont offers several romantic inns such as the Whipple-Tree Bed & Breakfast in Newbury. Or, consider the 1796 House in New Haven, which offers a cozy bit of history. This inn, built by one of the Green Mountain Boys over 200 years ago, offers fine food and romantic atmosphere in their cupola with a 360 degree view.

In the south, whether frosted with a winter snow or wrapped in lush greenery inns and B&B's, such as the West Mountain Inn, in Arlington, make the perfect setting for romance. At West Mountain they can even arrange a moonlight sleigh ride to ask that big question.

No matter which one you choose, hospitality takes on new meaning as Vermont's innkeepers and hotel staff cater to your every desire. Breakfast in bed? No problem. Reservations at the finest restaurant? Of course. Plus they're ready with tips and pointers on everything from shopping to horseback riding to fishing guides - whatever it takes to make your stay perfect.
